1 year and 11 months
Mexican Wolf
Health Status
Healthy, but overweight
Birth Season
Late Spring (May 8th)

Ahora is shorter than average, especially at her age, standing about 20 inches tall. What’s odd about her is her paws are larger than others her age, despise the fact she’s smaller. She has more fat than muscle, making her overweight, mostly from eating so much fish. Her fur is long and thick, being even throughout her pelt, being a light cream color that shades into a golden brown on her forehead, continuing down the back, and ends at her tail tip. Ahora’s favorite feature about herself are her dark orange eyes.

Outside Shell: Ahora is generally quiet and nervous, preferring to remain to herself especially in large groups. While she does smile at others, she struggles  starting conversations with strangers, but she’s trying her best to improve on this and become more sociable and confident. When under pressure, Ahora’s nervousness usually gets the best of her, and she can fail to do tasks correctly, because of her lack of comfortableness. Overall she can seem anxious but also serious to others at this layer.
Middle Layer: Behind her outside shell is her passionate layer where you will see Ahora’s intelligence, her love of fishing, and her bubbly personality. Ahora loves to learn about the land and the animals that inhabit it. At her age, Ahora knows a good amount about herbs and smaller prey; but she would gladly be a apprentice to a hunter or even a healer to learn even more. She loves fishing! It’s something she’s very comfortable doing and it’s almost like a hobby to her. Once at this layer, other wolves learn Ahora has a bubbly, and giggly personality, where she can sometimes get a little loud and somewhat annoying. She shows this layer once she’s comfortable.
Core: The very middle you will find Ahora’s deep traits. Ahora is a ‘wolf-pleaser’ and likes making others proud other than herself. She dislikes upsetting, failing, and loosing others, sometimes giving herself panic attacks when overthinking these topics; she’s trying to improve this.  When Ahora is angered or annoyed, and she can control it, she remains to herself for awhile (sometimes it’s only an hour, other times it can last for days). When she can’t control it, especially when others are pressuring or instructing her; she raises her voice a bit to snap back, “ALRIGHT!” or “ OKAY!” However soon she realizes her faults and apologizes for her behavior.

Ahora cannot remember her young puppyhood, including her parents or other litter mates. Her earliest memory is of her older sister, Lilas, carrying her though a heavily wooded area. She faintly recalls looking down and seeing her sisters golden brown paws padding at the mulch ground, with numerous green ferns brushing against her sisters legs. They spent a year with each other, hiking the mountains, valleys, and forest. Lilas ( Pronouced Lye-lus) taught Ahora everything she knew about herbs, and how to hunt smaller game. But, Lilas, who was just a yearling herself, could only teach Ahora the extent of her knowledge. Most of what they learned was new for both of them. Due to their inexperience, sometimes hunting went sour. Once, they were hunting what they presumed to be rabbits, and each sister took their position at two escape burrow holes. Ahora began to dig, while Lilas prepared for a load of retreating rabbits. Instead, a hissing badger came barreling out and latched itself onto Lilas’s cheek. Struggling to shake or bite the creature, Lilas yelped. Ahora, who was only a few inches taller then the badger, ran to help her sister and grabbed the badgers back left leg and tugged backwards. Releasing it’s grip on Lilas, the badger swung around to nip at Ahora. Quickly releasing, Ahora stepped back as the hissing black and white striped devil showed it’s teeth off. They stood off for about a minute, but then Ahora and Lilas left the area, side by side, with Ahora trying to clean her sister’s wound.
Their bond grew stronger with the days. But, the one day soon came. The two were traveling through a extended field, when a storm began to roll in. Ahora shuttered, trotting behind her sister, as thunder rolled on in the distance. A long cloud stretched down from the sky towards the ground, creating almost a wall. The cloud was approaching quickly, and Lilas began to move faster, trying to reach the forest at the other end of the field. Ahora, struggled trying to keep up as she eyeballed the cloud. Then, the wind began to pick up, and Ahora could hear falling water. The wall grew closer, and as Ahora looked she realized behind the cloud was heavy rain. Lilas tried to move faster but it was to late, for the cloud’s wall hovered over, and drenched them in rain. The wind made the rain feel like bullets, and it created a fog as to where Ahora could no longer see her sister. Standing still, Ahora struggled to even hear her sister’s footsteps. As the storm crackled, Ahora’s heart began to pound as she quickly scanned the area around her. After a large strike of lighting, Ahora choose a direction and began to run as fast as she could. Soaking wet, the muddy ground clamped on her paws and the wet grass stuck to her fur as she ran. Eventually she seen a small bush, and immediately began to dig, struggling to even see her paws. The hole was small, but it was all she needed as she crawled under the bush for some shelter. When the storm and fog moved out, she emerged. She realized she was still in the field, but was only a few hundred feet or so to the edge.
In the beginning she searched diligently for her sister. After 3 months, with no tracks or scents, Ahora lost hope. At this time Ahora didn’t look so hot, for as her fur was shaggy and patchy, and she lost much of her weight. Starvation lead her to settle down by a rocky river and begin to hunt fish. It was a river that brown bears stopped by to feast on large salmon. But Ahora distance herself,  hunting smaller fish, those close to the banks. At first, hunting fish was the hardest thing she ever done. But, after a few months of consistent hunting, she became very skilled, developing fast reflexes. She started gaining weight quickly, and her fur grew longer and evened out. Soon, the bears moved down the river and watched Ahora catch fish. They were surprised to see a wolf catch as much fish like the way Ahora did. The bears gave her the nickname, “Mantotohpa” meaning 4 bears. They gave her that name because it seemed she catched as much fish as 4 bears would. Most the bears didn’t mind Ahora, but one large bear named, Makkapitew, struggled with the idea of a wolf taking his calories from river. Makkapitew, stood 5.6 ft at his shoulders with a larger head and longer teeth(hence how he got his name). It was near the end of the day, Ahora caught most of her fish and began to eat when Makkapitew charged at Ahora. Without hesitation Ahora left her fish, and ran as far as she could, with the big bear feasting on her hard caught work. After gaining distance, she trotted along deciding to herself to try and join pack as she said to herself, “ Wolves stay with wolves, and I’m a wolf.”

Ahora wants to become better at socializing, controlling herself, and learn even more.
Hunting: 43/100
Medicine: 40/100
